Healing Choir - A new community arts project in Kilburn, London
Join Healing Choir Sundays at Kilburn’s Tin Tabernacle (Aug-Oct 2024) for communal vocalization, breath, and movement. All are welcome!
What is Healing Choir?
Healing Choir is a vibrant community arts project offering weekly Sunday gatherings at Kilburn’s historic Tin Tabernacle. Funded by the One Kilburn Community Fund, these sessions are designed to foster community, creativity, and well-being through communal vocalization, breath, and gentle movement
Date and Time:
Sessions start on Sunday, August 4, 2024, and run weekly every Sunday through October.Each session run from 10:30AM to 1PM.

What to Expect:
- Communal Vocalization: Join your voice with others in a powerful, shared expression.
- Breath and Movement: Engage in gentle exercises that promote relaxation and well-being.
- Unique Sound Repertoire: Create original, collaborative vocal music through improvisation, experimentation and self expression.
Who Should Attend:
- Open to individuals of all abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
- Free participation for all community members.
Led by Local Artist & Composer Sharon Gal: Under the guidance of Sharon Gal, an experienced artist and composer, participants will embark on a journey of self-expression and collective creativity. Supported by PAPRIKA Collective, the Healing Choir ensures an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

- Refreshments and light snacks will be available.
- There will be flexible seating arrangements with foldable chairs with backs.
- The building is wheelchair accessible. But unfortunately, the toilets are not wheelchair accessible.
- Limited spots available. Join the waitlist if sessions are fully booked.
- How to get to the Kilburn Tin Tabernacle: 5mins walk from Kilburn Park (Bakerloo Line) or Kilburn High Road Overground;10mins walk from Kilburn Station (Jubilee Line) or Brondesbury Overground; Easily accessed via bus routes 31, 316, 32, 328, 332 , 98, 16 and 206, stopping at Kilburn High Rd Cambridge Ave.

Sharon Gal is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, vocalist and composer, specialising in free improvisation and participatory, collaborative large group compositions. She works with voice, extended techniques, electronics, various instruments, field recordings and video; exploring presence, listening, embodiment, and the relationship between people, sound and space.
PAPRIKA Collective is an innovative arts-in-health organization based in Kilburn, London.
We co-design projects that act as catalysts for change in creative health and social care.
One Kilburn Community Fund supports local initiatives in Kilburn, fostering community development and enhancing the local environment through grants and engagement.

- Participation in a single session is welcomed, but attending all sessions is highly recommended to fully benefit from the experience.
- Due to limited tickets for each session, we advise not to prebook and then not attend. Please ensure you can participate before booking to allow as many people as possible to benefit from this experience.
